John Thurgood, CEO
I started working at Total Office (then “Thurgoods”) way back in 1991 having spent 3 years working for a retail bank in the City of London. The business was founded by my Grandfather George Thurgood in 1961 and there was a lot of pressure on me as the 3rd generation not to “mess it up”!
Things were very different back then but my commitment and vision from day one hasn’t changed; do everything well, provide excellent customer service and treat everybody (our people, clients and suppliers) with respect and kindness.
I’ve spent over 30 years working alongside some amazing people who have helped me navigate our businesses through recessions, the technology boom and more recently the Covid pandemic. I can’t take all the credit though as I’ve been given so many great ideas from our loyal clients, who have helped us continuously adapt to ensure we’re fit for purpose and provide the products and services they value.
I still love being actively involved in the business today. But, when I’m at home I’m looking after my children, walking Archie the dog, cooking the odd curry and keeping fit!
Adam Thompson, Director
Since 1990 I’ve been passionate about business supplies and office equipment. For over 30 years I’ve helped to provide first class service to our clients.
I still have a passion for working with businesses to drive down cost and increase efficiencies; often this is now focused on environmental products, sustainability, and consolidation. I also enjoy travelling into London to meet clients, many of whom I’ve worked with over numerous years.
We continue to embrace the many changes that our industry faces, and we do it all with a smile on our faces. This ethos runs through the whole of Total Office – we really do love what we do!
Away from work, I’m happiest in the garden or playing a round of golf. I also love playing Scrabble.
Diane De Blasi, Managing Director
I have over 27 years’ experience of working in the business supplies market. Over the years I’ve worked with some amazing clients and colleagues, enabling me to develop great sales and support function strategies.
Offering solutions and making business supplies a seamless function for the client is paramount, always remaining relevant to the current market conditions. Today, sustainability is at the forefront of client’s requirements alongside outstanding service and long-term pricing solutions.
I absolutely love what I do, learning new things every day, continuing to meet brilliant people. Having the courage to make positive change and being kind are definitely the key to success.
In my spare time I love spending time with my family. My husband and daughter are my inspiration, spending time with them, family walks, eating out, the simple things in life are so important. Volunteering in the community is a passion, supporting and helping others is a great way to give back.
