Full-time, office based | Salary range £23,000-£26,000pa
Basildon location | Monday-Friday 9:00am-5:30pm
Due to continued growth within the business, we have an exciting opportunity for a Purchasing Assistant to work alongside our Purchasing Manager.
This will be a varied role covering all purchasing enquiries. Must be capable of working to deadlines and dealing with suppliers to find sustainable solutions for our client base. Purchasing background is preferred but not essential as full training will be provided.
- Contacting suppliers
- Purchasing stock
- Monitor supplier cost pricing to ensure they are in line with the market
- Spend time learning the products
- Chasing deliveries with suppliers
- Dealing with daily enquiries from the sales team
- Manage minimum stock levels to meet the requirements of the customer base
- Liaise with the warehouse on a daily basis about incoming/outgoing stock
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills
- Solid analytical skills
- Strong organisational and problem-solving skills
- Skilled in Microsoft Office – word, excel is essential
