Total Office is Celebrating 50 Glorious Years!

11th October 2011

It was back in 1961, when Jaguar launched the E-Type, that George Thurgood and son Graham formed G Thurgood & Son in Bury Street, EC3, a stone’s throw from where the Gherkin is today.

When George passed away in 1973, Graham carried on the business with the next generation Terry and John joining in the late 80s. Shortly after Graham’s retirement, the company name was changed to Total Office to reflect the ever-expanding service range that we provided to companies across London.

Having acquired Williams Cook in 1997 and HJ Gains in 2003, Total Office merged with G S Copsey, another City based commercial stationers and printers founded in 1949.

A further acquisition in 2007 of Lyon Bailey and a new brand identity completed last year takes us to 2011 with Total Office continuing to retain its position as a leading independent office supplies and business print provider meeting the needs of businesses throughout London.
